Cory grew up as one of five siblings, splitting his time between Arizona and Indiana.

His house was always busy, and Cory found himself naturally taking the leadership role within his brothers and sisters.

He graduated in business from Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) where he continued to hone his leadership skills and was President of the Entrepreneurship Club.

He recalls a pivotal moment listening to Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS, who was originally known for his successful stint on The Amazing Race.

He came to speak at the Student Union and explained his journey of creating his buy-one-give-one model after a trip to Argentina and seeing so many children without shoes.

This story stuck with Cory throughout the years.

In 2015, he began his journey in the Digital Marketing realm with ZOG Digital, a top marketing agency based out of Scottsdale.

That experience gave him exposure working with Fortune 500 companies and world renowned brands and leaders like the CEO of Chuck E. Cheese and the Head of Digital at Overstock. 

After working his way up through agencies and leadership roles, Cory was given the opportunity to run a national brand in 2019.

The brand was Bulldog Online - fun, energetic yoga classes.

He helped grow the brand from 600 users to almost 10,000 users in a little over a year.

When the Covid pandemic started, Cory and his family relocated back to the Midwest and settled down in Detroit, Michigan.

It then became clear to him that he wanted to create a company that valued people over profits while prioritizing cause-driven elements.

Launching a Mission-Led Marketing Agency

Enter The Growth Shark.

Cory founded The Growth Shark, which works with companies like Hexskin and Joyride Coffee with a cause-driven approach toward growing the company and making the world better at the same time. 

Cory has dedicated his agency to assisting clients with purpose in growth.

The Growth Shark launched The Mangrove Initiative, a environmental accountability program within Hexskin swimwear which guarantees that for every product purchased, Hexskin plants two Mangrove trees.

Each Mangrove tree sequesters up to 680 lbs of CO2 and helps stabilize Florida’s coastline ecosystem and prevent erosion.

The Growth Shark’s goal is to expand its reach and continue to spread their digital talents and purpose to other cause-driven brands.
